Trinity College has officially named its new visual arts studio after distinguished alumnus, Professor David Tan, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to both fashion and law. As Vice-Dean (Academic Affairs) at the National University of Singapore’s Faculty of Law, David has built an impressive career specializing in entertainment law, freedom of speech, and data protection. Yet, his passion for photography and fashion has also led him to work with luxury brands like Cartier and Versace, and to contribute to top fashion publications such as Vanity Fair and Harper’s Bazaar.
David’s commitment to the arts traces back to his time at Trinity College, where he was twice awarded the Andrew Sprague Bursary for Photography and Archives. His recent donation to support the visual arts space in the college’s new residential building further cements his enduring dedication to fostering creativity.
